The project is a feasibility study currently underway for two facilities for Renascent, one of the largest residential drug and alcohol treatment providers in Ontario. The facilities provide abstinence-based treatment, addressing concurrent mental health issues. The feasibility study has engaged with consultation through meetings and surveys with program participants, staff, and management. The proposal seeks to increase the generosity, openness and accessibility of the existing facilities. A combination of indoor spaces and outdoor spaces aim to contribute to wellness. The proposal considers current use and potential future developments, to provide a sustainable and flexible solution, adaptable to the needs of both facilities for many years to come. The unique needs of mental health facility are also addressed, balancing openness and privacy, creating a safe and welcoming environment for clients, staff and visitors.
